Condensed & Moderately Braggy Biography

Professional. In 1990, He started out as associate, counsel and partner with “big firms.”  (Long Aldridge & Norman NKA Dentons; Paul Hastings.)  In 2003 he formed his own firm, and in 2015 transitioned to solo practice.  Detailed information about selected practice achievements can be found here.  However, Eric doesn’t currently think of himself in the tightly defined position of “attorney” but rather views himself as well-rounded problem solver.  Eric is also one of the leading speakers and writing on the subject of attorney mental health.  That experience is catalogued here.

Education. Eric prepared himself for practice with a degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania (Class of 1987, President and Vice President of Student Government) and the University of Florida College of Law (Class of July 1990, first in class).

Community.  Eric is quite involved at Atlanta’s Temple Sinai where he established and implemented a lay clergy program.  He was a youth baseball coach, coaching more than 20 teams from 1999 to 2011. Eric is involved in the Georgia Bar’s mock trial program, serving as a coach from 2011 to 2013, and as a judge (including for State level competition) from 2020 to the present.  In the heated elections of 2020 and 2024, Eric served as a “boiler room attorney,” assisting precinct monitors in addressing issues at polling places.

Interesting (or maybe not) Personal Information.  Eric is a huge baseball fan. This is perhaps most significantly demonstrated by his ownership of every Topps baseball card from 1972 to 1991, as well as a  significant amount of such cards from 1967 to 1971. Or by this video.  He also cooks, and eats his cooking, perhaps too much. Eric is both a trivia competition host (or at least was for a few years in the 2010, hosting perhaps 500 competitions) and player. Indeed, he’s a Level C LLAMA (IYKYK).
